ment. The last theme is again that of
the primitive Negro dance which
works up to a tremendous climax. The
brass section of the orchestra is
brought into full play and the rhap-
sody ends in a wild frenzy. Mr. Pa-
vel' and his composition pleased the
audience immeasurably. Mr. Kolar
conducted with his usual circumspec-
tion and accuracy.
The third number on the program
was Rigor's Variations on an original
theme, Opus 36. This work is cotil-

perb authority and command and the
audience seemed to enjoy it all very

The last number was that of Percy

Both are colorful pieces of orchestra-
tion, each different in its mood. The
second movement, a light, rhythmic
dance, put the audience in good humor
before going home. Again Mr. Kolar
was applauded with evident enthusi-
