the society for the year and spoke in
a general way concerning the ad-
vancement of the medical profession
through the 51aimonides. Among
other things, Dr. Rosen said
This society has been created from
the nucleus of a few in order to loin
it to its present status, where the

to be of service to mankind.
"This society originated from a so-
cial dub, is rapidly taking on the
characteristics of a true medical at-
mosphere, without losing its quality
of true fellowship. Any outsider
coming among us is struck at once

J. Norton, Secretary of the Detroit
Community Fund to Rabbi Leo M.
Franklin. Dr. Franklin confluents

current issue.)

Detroit Community Fund
October 3, 1921.
Rabbi Leo M. Franklin,
Temple Beth El,
Detroit, Michigan,
My Dear Dr. Franklin:
It was with keen regret that the
officials of the Detroit Community
Fund discovered that they had set the
date and issued invitations for the
Annual Dinner on the eve of an im-
portant Jewish Holiday.
AS soon as this error was brought
to our attention, we undertook to
change the arrangements. We found,
however, that the only meeting place
where we could accommodate the
necessary number of people and Sat-
isfy all groups was booked for all
other evenings available for our pur-
pose. Consequently, after making
every effort to change the arranae-
ments, we were compelled to let the
original date stand.
May we ask your tolerance under
the circumstances and will you ascribe
to Christian ignorance what seems to
he an act of deliberate offense to the
Jew?
Yours very sincerely,
William J. Norton, .
Secretary.

LETTER B OX

JERUSALEM.—(J. T. A.)— The
first issue of Ilaolom Ila-Yisroeli, a
new Hebrew weekly, has appeared in
Beirut,

How often do your friends say to you, "Oh, I knew you by your voice?"

For this reason long-distance telephone conversations have an em-
phatic value aside from the convenience of an immediate reply to quos-
lions and the opportunity for discussion.

Send your own voice over the Long Distance wire in all important
transactions and it is as if you had been present yourself. This is the
satisfying way—the modern way to transact your affairs.

The following information about different classifications of Long Distance
calls will aid you in using the telephone most economically and efficiently.

1. If you will talk to any person an-

swering the telephone, t he tollcharge

will be about one-fifth less than as

if you had asked for a particular

person at that addrem.

2. Such service between 830 P. M.

and Midnight costs only about one-

half the day rates and between

Midnight and 4.30 A. M. it

costs only about one-fourth the

day rates.

3. Particular person calls are those in
which you ask to talk with a par-
ticular person in another city. Oct
this clam of calls a report charge is
made if the person asked for cannot
be communicated with through no
fault of the Telephone Company.
This charge is not made if the con-
nection is established. The report-
charge amounts to about one-fifth
of the particular person rate.

4. Charges can be reversed only on
particular person calls.

It is a handsomer car—It is easier to operate—
It is improved in many mechanical features—
It is more economical — It has the exclusive
Super-Six features for increasing car life

We Are Showing It For the First Time

The perfection that men said would
make the Hudson Super-Six the finest
automobile that is built is embraced in
the new models we are now showing.

Six years with 111,000 cars now in use
have shown how to free it from many
of the annoyances regarded inevitable
in all cars.

For Which It Is Known

ESTIMATES GIVEN

Each year has seen the emphasis of
some new quality in the Hudson Super-
Six. Six years ago, when new, it was
the 72% greater horsepower without
increase of motor size or sacrifice of
simplicity that attracted.

Some thought such power would prove
destructive, and so many famous tests
were made to prove endurance.

Every one recalls how Hudson stock
cars made new records for speed.
Among them 1819 miles in 24 hours.

The run front San Francisco to New
York and return in 10 days 21 hours
remains unmatched though numerous
attempts have since been made
by others.

Only within the Hudson organization
was such development possible. Its
engineers, for the most part, the same
personnel responsible for all previous
Hudsons, have had unequalled
opportunities.

Every car built in those years became
a guide to future advancement. Every
endurance test revealed new ways to
improvement. Every model suggested
a simpler, more beautiful car. The
experience of every owner was an in-
fluence toward perfection.

It created new standards of beauty.
Each body type is famous for good
looks and the completeness of every
detail.

The new Hudson Super-Six is the ful-
fillment of the promise of those 111,000
cars now in service.

Prompt Deliveries
To Early Buyers

The Super-Six has always been the
largest selling fine car. Think what
must be the demand for this greatest
of all Hudsons and at this price.

Early buyers will get first deliveries.
