ALPHA LAMBDA KAPPA
INITIATES THREE NEW
CANDIDATES MONDAY

At sundown last Monday, on the
athletic field at Belle Isle, in the cen-
ter of an enclosure formed by the
presence of a multitude of smiling
spectators, blindfolded, their faces
embellished with gay and gaudy
paints and pigments, creating for
themselves an unenviable atmosphere
of profound embarrassment, three
candidates to the Alpha Lambda
Kappa Fraternity were stumbling
through their last and most impres-
sive degree of their initiation, under
compulsion of slap-sticks and boxing
gloves. Boxing matches, sack races,
dry land fishing, musical renditions
unappreciatively received, and other
ceremonial exercises, furnished an

incessant amount of inexpensive di-
version to a laughing, unsympathetic
audience.
At the completion of the last ritual,
the members of the fraternity and
their victims repaired to the Casino,
where private reservations for a ban-
quet in honor of the occasion awaited
them. The address of recipiency was
delivered by the president of the fra-
ternity, It. S. Drews, followed by an
address of admonition by the secre-
tary, Mr. Alfred Mendelsohn.
At 11 o'clock the party, supplied
with horns, megaphones, kazoos and
various other disturbances motored
through the city, in a hearty conclud-
ing celebration of a successful even-
ing's activities.
The following members of the
chapter participated: Messrs. Harold
Briskman, Louis Cantor, R. S. Drews,
Charles Finn, Frederick W. Fox,
