FRONTENAC FEATURES
CAVE DWELLER REVUE

William D. C. Merles has sprung
an agreeable surprise on Detroit by
actually supplanting here a real bit
of the gay life of New York, where
only, it has been assumed, the follies
and frolics could get a large enough
clientclle to make such a venture
pay. The Cave Dwellers, a musical
revue of the metropolis roof and
restaurant variety, opened an in-
definite engagement at the Cafe
Frontenac a week ago and sprung
into popular favor at once. Every
night the tables in the gorgeous old
cafe have been more than .occupied.
On several evenings, half as many
people as have been fortunate
enough to secure tables have been
turned away.
The Cave Dwellers' Revue is a
thing of beauty and gorgeousness.
The costumes alone are worth see-
ing in the colorful surroundings,
even if the performance's of clever
artists were not added. The beauty
chorus is not a misnomer, the girls
being pretty and pleasingly voiced.
The music was written by Ballard
MacDonald and David Sampler, the
authors of Ziegfeld's Follies and
Midnight Frolic, and has all the
rhythmic inspiriting qualities for
which the work of those authors is
famous.
Among the principals of the cast
are Miss Jennie Blossom, ingenue
lead; Mr. Harry Hoyt, baritone lead;
Miss Adele Ardsley, prima donna;
Mr. Addison Fowler and Miss Flor-
enze Tamara, dancers extraordinary,
and Miss Lassie Nazworthy, premier
dancer. The revue is under the per-
sonal direction of Mr. J. K. Gorham.

man and woman of America
and of the world.

They were satisfied that as the
value of Dodge Brothers car
revealed itself, appreciation, ad-
miration and larger volume
would automatically follow.

There is a deep and a special
significance in this sales record.

They visualized this great good
will, ever growing and continu-
ing to grow, as long as motor
cars should go forth bearing
their name.

Because they did not seek it in
the ordinary way, it is all the
more impressive that sales pre-
cedence should have been
conferred upon their product.

They never permitted themselves
or their associates to lose sight of
this great principle in which they
believed so thoroughly.

The point of this achievement is
that from the d-iy the business
was founded, Doilge Brothers
never once laid stress on mere
volume of production.

Their life work had taught them
that there was no other sound
way in which to build.

They never strove to surpass in
the quantity of cars produced
during any given period.

Their thought lay deeper than
that. It was a deliberate thought,
which looked toward the ulti-
mate, not the immediate.

The lesson of it, the logic of it, is
too plain, too clear and too com-
plimentary to Dodge Brothers
to require or permit extended
comment.

Their implicit conviction was
that the one thing with which
they should concern themselves
was the true value of the cars
they manufactured.

Suffice it to say, that Dodge
Brothers are more deeply appre-
ciative than ever of the confidence
it demonstrates on the part of the
baying public.

Given that good value, they
were assured that greater and
greater sales must of necessity
follow.

Suffice it to say that this institu-
tion will never deviate by so
much as a hair's breadth from
ele manufacturing principles
which have brought about this
unique and splendid tribute from
the American people.
