The Difference Between a
State Bank and a National
Bank Is This:

A State Bank Is chartered by the state In which
It Is located and is subject to the taus of that state
and examinationa by State authorities.
A National Bank is authorized by act of Congress
and is a part of the Federal Reserve System, while
a Slate Ilank may or may not belong to such
system. (This bank Is a member.)
A State Bank cannot Issue bank notes, which a
National Bank may do, although under the Federal
Reserve Act of 1913 the major portion of the notes
are now Issued thru the Federal Reserve Banks.
There Is no difference to the Individual, either In
protection or service afforded by these two classes
