meeting and initiation at the home of
Rose Plottler, at which time Josephine
Sandorf was initiated into the Soror-

luncheon was served in honor of its

Whereas, It has pleased our Heaven-
ly Father to transfer to a higher and
nobler sphere the soul of Miss Jennie
Gordon, and
Whereas, Miss Gordon was the
founder and a beloved and active mem-
ber of the Detroit Chapter of Hadas-
sah, therefore be it
Resolved, That we, the Board of Di-
rector, and members of Hadassah, ex-
tend to her beloved parents and broth-
er our sincerest sympathy in tin.; sad
hour. We commend them to the care
of the Almighty God, and may they
find comfort in the knowledge that
for her the pains and sorrows of this
earth are dead, and in their stead arc
born peace and happiness. May her
memory remind us of the good and
noble things site accomplished during
her short life which was so replete
with kind and helpful thoughts and
deeds of her fellow beings, in the per-
formance of which site often sacrificed
herself. May her memory further in-
spire us to carry on the great work
