program will consist of a debate on

the question. Resolved: That the Na-

affirmative arguments will be pre-
sented by Louis Rosenweig and Max
Cohen. Their opponents are J. Reit-
man and Jacob J. Rosenthal. In ad-
dition to the debate Mr. Fred M. But-
zel is scheduled to address the club.

Two programs of exceptional in-
terest will be staged during the com-
ing few weeks. One of the Semi-An-

nual Miniature Oratorical Contest,
the other is a Mock Trial.
These two features have been placed
earlier in the term than usual so as
not to interfere with an extra outside
affair at the end of the term. Mr.
Max Cohen, chairman of the chal-
lenge committee, has practically corn-
pleted negotiations for a dual de-
bate with a nearby college. In anti-
cipation of this the following men
were elected to compose the two
teams to represent the Philomathic;
Harold G. Batter, Max Cohen, J.
Shorty Horwitz, Irving Itkowitz,
Reuben Kaltman and Jacob J. Rosen-
thal. Harry H. Platt and Samuel
Weisberg were elected alternates.
Samuel J. Rhodes, a prominent De-
troit attorney, will coach the teams.
Further details concerning the dual
debate will be announced as soon as
they are arranged.
