What
ney nought

A few days ago a gentleman had a lady, accompanied
by their daughter who also was much interested in prop-
er home furnishings, visited Friedenberg's looking for a
dining room suite. The furniture wasn't purchased
that day. It required two visits, in fact—but here is the
story:

On the occasion of the first call the gentlema n
said:
"I like your furniture—lik e
it fine—and your prices
may be reasonable, considering the quality, but some
stores I understand give a discount and, before making
up our minds definitely, we are going to look around."

In the afternoon they came again, but this time the
wife did the talking, and here is what she said: "Yes
we've been around, been everywhere they sell furniture,
I think, and we've come back for that Hepplewhite
suite. The styles in your furniture are good; it is well
finished, and no wthat we have compared the interior
construction as you suggested—Weill We're satisfied!"

"What about prices?" As we asked this the lady
smiled. "The prices", said she—"you don't have to cut
them." And then in a burs tof confidenc e
"I am glad you
didn't cut them. It gives us more confidence in you
and in your goods. Just treat us as well as you do any-
one else and that's all we ask."

"Does a policy like this pay?" You might as well ask:
"Does it pay to be honest? Does it pay to follow the
Golden
Rule?" The people of Detroit appreciate a
square deal and they will always get it here.
