Sc, rapid has been the growth of the
Hartwick Lumber company that it has
constantly had to keep on adding
facilities for handling its great cus-
tom in the manner that has become
the special pride of this organization.
Demand for Hartwick lumber and
Hartwick service has caused it to ex-
tend its branches in all sections of
Detroit. The latest acquisition to the
facilities of the company is a new
yard at Grand River avenue and the
Pennsylvania railroad,
About the first of the year calls for
its service in the North Woodward
district caused the company to open a
yard, known as the North Woodward
Lumber company. Another of the
company's yards is located at Clay
avenue and the Grand Trunk railroad.
These yards handle lumber exclu•
sively.
The satisfaction which has always
been theirs when dealing with the
Hartwick Lumber company has made
many of its customers call on it for
the liner kind of lumber and interior
finish wood, and in order to be able
to give them Hart wick service on this
material, new machinery has been in-
stalled in its finishing factory at Jef-
ferson avenue and Detroit Terminal
railway, where all kinds of interior
finish woods, door, and sashes may
he obtained.
A new yard has also been estab-
lished at Kercheval avenue and the
Terminal railroad, where coal is han-
dled exclusively for east side delivery.
The Ilartwick Lumber company
aims to make its service the most
complete of any company of its kind
in the country. To do this it has ex-
tended its yards to cover the whole
city. It now carries as complete a
stock of lumber as may be found in
the city, and has equipment that en-
ables it to take care of orders quickly
in any part of Detroit and suburbs.
