A very pretty affair of the week
Was the birthday party of Miss Lillian
Kirschbaum which was given at her
home, 72 Erskine street, on Saturday
evening, May 22. A daintily arranged
luncheon was served the guests at
midnight.
Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Simon and
family, of 72 Erskine street, have
moved into their new home at 80 Pal-
lister avenue.
Miss Ida Berg of New York city
is visiting her brother, Mr. Jack Berg,
of 1073 Brush street.
Mr. Al Frank has left for Vicks-
burg, Miss., where his marriage to
Miss 'Lydda Orbach will take place
shortly. Miss Orbach, who is a sister
of Mrs. Sant Mandell of this city, has
many friends in Detroit where she
has been a frequent visitor.
Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Fischer of 712
I'rospect avenue, Milwaukee, Wis.,
announce the marriage of their
daughter, Gladys Ruth, to Mr. Harold
M. Simon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Simon. of 128 McLean avenue, to
take place, Tuesday, June 1st. at the
bride's lesidence. Mr. and Mrs.
Simon, Miss Fannie Simon, of 101
East Forest, and Mr. and Nfrs. C. K.
Jacobs, of 370 Collingwood avenue,
will leave Saturday night for Milwau-

Mrs. Simon are stopping at the Ho•

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cornfield of
the Charlevoix hotel, are at the King
Edward hotel, Toronto, for the sum-
mer.
On account of illness the engage-
ment reception of Miss Rita Green-
berg and Mr. Charles Berlin, an•
flounced for Sunday, May 30, has
been postponed.
Air. Harold Simon, whose marriage
to Miss Gladys Ruth Fischer of Mil-
waukee, Wis., Will be an event of June
1st, was the guest of honor at a din-
ner-party at the Phoenix Club Mon-
day evening.
A most delightful surprise was
tendered Niiss Sadye M. \Veisberger
at the residence of Nliss Frances D.
Wilensky, on Farnsworth avenue,
Saturday evening, May 22. The even-
Mg was pleasantly spent with games
and dancing. Mr. Dale Nathanson
greatly enhanced the pleasure of the
evening by rendering several vocal
selections, accompanied by Mr. Ralph
E. Raskin at the piano. Miss Millie
Hoffman also contributed to the mu-
sical program. A "Dutch" luncheon
was served the following guests at
midnight: The Misses Bessie Fried-
man, Daisy E. Cook, Frances Wilen-
