O ry FI During the past week several of the issues listed on the Local Board have been subject to more or less price re- cession. Sugars apparently have been the only class to hold firm in the face of the liquidation which has bees in progress. 'Minnesota, Michigan and Columbia Sugar have not only held their strength, but have advanced dur- ing the course of the week's trailing. Motors, us it rule, have displayed a, tendency to weakness. The drop in the market price of Paige-Detrolt, how- ever, is due to the stock dividend which has recently been declared by that company. However, it is estimat- ed that this particular security will rogain its strength in view of the fact that the dividend rate of 36 per cent per annum is to be continued by the company. Continental, Federal, Ford of Cana- da, Lincoln, Packard and Iles all changed hands on the floor during the past week. Detroit Edison sold off, but recovered some of its loss, while other public utilities to figure in the week's transactions were American Light and Cities Service.
