The Detroit chapter of Iladassalt
Tuesday evening gave a tine enter-
tainment at a Samovar tea party held
at the Shaarey Zedek synagog. '1' he
event was very well attended and
showed evidence of greater interest in
the organization.
The program was featured by a
short play, "Here and There," pre-
sented by members of the Buds of
Judaea, a Young Judaea circle. The
east consisted of Esther Jacobson, in
the role of "Sammy"; Tillie Chimo-
vita, as the Fairy, and six Palestine
children. Alice Cashwan, Ray Ber-
ger, Bessie Yacht, Tillie Lipson, Anna
Urrnan and Anna Goldberg. Miss
Cashwan Was in charge of ar-
rangements fur the play.
The rest of the program consisted
of several selections on the piano by
Miss Minnie Ilirshman, classic danc-
ing by Miss Kathleen Pereira, and the
following numbers by Young Judae-

An appeal made for toys to be sent
as Detroit's Shalach !drums to the
children of Palestine on Purim, the

under the auspices of the Young Ju-
daea organization, resulted in a num-
ber of pledges and initial contribu-
tions by Mrs. Wolf Kaplan and Mrs.
Blumenthal,
The Iladassah is conducting a sew-
ing circle at the Shaarey Zedek every
