TO BE STARTED SOON

Announcement has been made by
the directors of the First and Old
Detroit National Bank that at an early
day, steps are to be taken looking to
the erection of the new bank and of-
fice building for the First and Old
Detroit Nat,. nal Bank and the Cen-
tral Savings hank on the site of the
Hotel Ponchartrain.
The present quarters of the First
and Old Detroit National Bank, in
view of the development of its busi-
ness, have for a considerable time
proved wholly inadequate—so inade-
quate that it threatens to jeopardize
the continued development and exten-
sion of its busitiess and the lease of
the Central Savings Bank, now allied
and practicaily consolidated with the
First and,Old Detroit, will at a com-
Parativ: y early day expire by limi-
tatio so it is wholly dependent on
hav lig a home provided for in the
to w building. The other allied insti-
talon, the First National Company,
Is practically without a home, being
temporarily housed in what was the
, director's room of the First and Old
Detroit Bank in a space wholly in-
adequate, while the meetings of the
1,boa7d of directors of the bank have
Abe held in a committee room.
IVItile it is recognized by the board
0 r le directors of the bank that the
'P r sent is not a favorable time to en-
g, h a ge in a large building operation,
le low price at which the property
w,
, is purchasled because its operation
d id been unprofitable, enables the
P r esent owners to face the increased
iast of present building and even then
ve a• completed property at a cost )
t more than it would cost in nor-
al times, considering the low value
which the property was purchased
little more than the real estate alone
worth.

troit Stock Exchange is that which

today, scheduling the listing of U. S.

mer 4,000,000 and the latter 2,800,000
go on the board for immediate trad-
ing.

York, manufactures steam and hot
water radiators and boilers, in plants
located in Detroit, Dunkirk, N. Y.;
