Hundreds of members of Temple
Beth El, their families and friends
were present Wednesday evening at
what was conceded by all present to
be one of the brightest occasions in
the history of the Temple. Partici-
pated in by members of the Temple,
the Women's Auxiliary and the
Young People's Society, the meeting
took on the form of a Congregational
reunion.
The Men's Temple Club, which has
been in contemplation for some time,

temporary officers were chosen: Rabbi
Leo M. Franklin, chairman; Adolph
Freund, vice-chairman; Rabbi Samuel
S. Mayerberg, secretary; Jerome
Ackerman, treasurer. Permanent of-
ficers will be elected at a meeting of
the Men's Club, Sunday afternoon, at
3 o'clock, at Temple Beth El.
At 9 o'clock the three organizations
gathered together in the Temple audi-
torium where they witnessed a pro-
gram of unusual beauty and brilliancy.
A series of living pictures presenting
types of religious heroism, taken
from the story of Chanukah, were
presented by members of the affili-
ated organizations of the Temple in
costume, trained under the direct su-
pervision of Mrs. Mayer Sulzberger
and Mrs. Oscar Rosenberger. Rabbi
Samuel S. Nlayerberg, in the act of
telling the story of Chanukah to a
mother and three eager little chil-
dren, would pause for a moment at
an interesting point in the tale and
the words leaving his lips would take
life and form and color in a beautiful
tableaux on an improvised stage.
The following program was pre-
sented with remarkable finesse and
skill:
