FREE BURIAL SOCIETY
DOES GREAT SERVICE
IN PAST SIX MONTHS

The semi-annual report of the
Chesed Shal Emeth (Jewish Free
Burial Society) printed below, gives
an insight into the worthy service
the society is rendering to the Jew-
ish poor and needy. In the six
months ending June, 1919. the organ-
ization took care of 224 burials,
whose family were wholy destitute.
That it is filling a real nneed in the
community there is no doubt. Every
Jewish man and woman in the com-
munity with compassion for their less
fortunate brethren who, without the
efforts of the Chesed Shal Ameth,
would have to be buried in a T'otter's
Field, are urged to become members
of this organization.
The following are the officers of
the Detroit Free Burial Association:
Samna' Sandweiss, president; H. Geis-
man, vice-president; I. Ilinstock, vice-
president; M. Tench, secretary; A.
Lipman, ex-financial secreetary; I.
Itzkowitz, present financial secretary.
The Finance Committee consists r f
