Mr. Blumberg was a leading spirit
in many social and communal move-
ments in the city. He was a tireless
worker for the Zionist cause and had
been one of the organizers of the
Detroit Hebrew Kindergarten. He
was a member of the Farnsworth
Congregation and the Talmud Torah
and was identified with other worthy
institutions. Mr. Blumberg leaves
seven sons, Morris, Oscar, Sol, Max.
Abraham, Benjamin and Sidney, and
three daughters, Lillian. Rose and
Mrs. N.• E. Aronstam. The funeral
was conducted from the residence,
201 Smith avenue, Ti.ursday after-
noon, Rabbi Judah L. Levin officiat-
ing. Interment took place at the
family plot in the Clover Hill Park
Cemetery.

Mrs. Ben Oppenheimer. of Eau
Claire, Mich., died Saturday after-
noon, July 5th, at the Mayo Brothers
Institution, Rochester. Minn., at the
age of 49, after undergoing a very
serious operation for cancer.
Mrs. Oppenheimer, a former resi-
dent of Detroit, had made her home
in Eau Claire for the past 29 years.
She leaves her husband. Mr. Ben Op-
penheimer, one son. who is on his
way home from France wtih the A.

ters, A. J. Bloomgarden. Chas.
llloomgarden, Mrs. L. Sillmati and
Mrs. J. Berman, all of Detroit. and
Mrs. G. Harris and Mrs. M. Gold-
man, of Toledo. Interment took
place at Goshen, Ind., Tuesday aft-
ernoon, Rabbi Weinstein officiating.

avy was announced last week from
Petrograd. Dr. Harkavy was by far
