Jews Will Go To Palestine
Under All Circumstances,
Says Dr. Chayim Weitzman

ADOLPH KRAUS AND
JULIUS ROSENWALD
PETITION WILSON

LONDON--The Conference of
English Zionists gave a great ova-
tion to Dr..Chayint Weitzman when
he said that he made it clear in very
responsible circles that no matter
what may happen to the Zionist
claims upon Palestine, the Jews will
in any case emigrate to their ancient
homeland. This firm attitude on the
part of the Zionist leader aroused the
Convention to the highest pitch of
enthusiasm. All the delegates rose
from their scats and cheered Dr.
Weitzman for several minutes.
Ilr. Weitzman's speech followed a
vote of confidence given unanimously
by the Conference to the Zionist
leaders. He repeated his assurances
that the Zionist prospects are excel-
lent but at the same time he let it be
understood in influential circles that
the Jews are decided upon settling in
Palestine even if the Zionist claims
should not be recognized. Dr. Weitz-
man also dwelt on the difficulties
which the Zionist leaders in l'aris
are continually encountering. Ile
claimed that every movement of
theirs was being spied and every ac-
tion of theirs wrongly interpreted by
enemies. These obstacles Dr. Weitz-
man explained are being created by
Jews and Arabs, who are instigated
by Jews.
Thus far the Conference has re-
ceived pledges amounting to 5450,000
toward its half million dollar Restor-
ation Fund. ft appears likely that the
English Zionists will raise much
more than this sum.

HELPED POLISH PEOPLE

New York:—Felix NI. Warburg,
Chairman of the Joint Distribution
Committee of American Funds for
Jewish War Sufferers, issued a state-
ment deploring the assertions of Pol-
ish representatives in this country
that the Jews, in protest against mas-
sacres, are seeking to prejudice Amer-
icans against the new Polish Govern-
ment.
"It is to be regretted," he said,
"that after successfully starting co-
operation between the Poles and the
Jews residing in the United States. the
protest meeting of the Jews against
the pogroms which have taken place,
in the desire to prevent further ones,
appear ill the papers as an attempt by
the Jews to prejudice Americans
against the new Polish Government.
"Naturally the Jews are deeply in-
terested in the welfare of their co-
religionists, of whom about 5,000,000
are now living in the new Poland.
Everybody must know that to excite
unfriendly feelings on the part of
Americans against the Polish Govern-
ment would be criminal, as it is bound
to react unfavorably against the Jews.
What these protests mean is simply
an earnest pleading that every possi-
hie step, official and unofficial, be
taken by the new Polish Government
to prevent outbreaks by an excited
populace, which, feeling its new
strength and old prejudices may, if
not held in check, break loose when
not watched. That is all we hope for.

;his photograph illustrates one of the many "unique" seders held for our
soldier boys during Passover. It was taken at the Nlichigan Central station
in Detroit during the now famous "Pullman Car Seder" under the auspices
