Zurich—A manifesto on behalf of
the orthodox organization, "Agudath
Israel," has just been issued by Rabbi
Shapiro, of Kovno; Chief Rabbi, Dr.
Margolies of Florence, Italy ; and
Chief Rabbi, Dr. Lowenstein, in which
they declare all Jews who actively op-
pose the creation of a Jewish home-
land in Palestine to be traitors. Fur-
thermore, they express the desire that
all lews whole-heartedly support
Zionism.

Acknowledgment of the splendid
co-operation of a number of public
spirited Jewish citizens who took part
in the welcome of the boys of the Red
Arrow division is contained in the
following report of Mr. Jacob Nathan,
who was appointed chairman of the
informal committee. The gentlemen
mentioned in the report laid aside
their social obligations for the day
and responded willingly to the call to
serve t h e returning soldiers, many of
whom were Jewish boys. Their work
was done tinder the auspices of the
Jewish ‘Velfare Board. As a result.
many Jewish boys were entertained in
Jewish homes and many of the non-
Jewish soldiers were extended every
courtesy and and by the committee.
That the Detroit Jewish community
was represented by this splendid body
of men is a handsome tribute to Mr.
Nathan.
The report to Mr. Butzel follows:
Mr. Fred M. Butzel. President the
Jewish Welfare Board of Detroit.
Dear Sir:—
Please accept this report of the as-
signment you gave me in connection
with the arrival of the Thirty-second
Division—the Red Arrow boys—and
their reception at the Michigan Cen-
tral depot. The following, men com-
posed the Jewish Welfare Board cont. ,
mittee: Jesse F. Hirshntan, J. J. Cum-
mins, Julian H. Krolik, Sol M. Cotten,
Joseph Velion, Harry R. Solomon,
Arthur E. Find, H. P. Cohen, A.
Cooper and Jacob Nathan. This com-
mittee co-operated with the Board of
Commerce, Knights of Columbus, Y.
M. C. A., U and I Club, Rotary and
Kiwanis Clubs in caring for the re-
turned soldiers at the depot. The
committee reported for duty at 2
o'clock Sunday afternoon. May 18,
and remained on duty until the last
train arrived from which the soldiers
detrained, at about 2 o'clock Monday
morning. The representatives of the
Jewish Welfare Board responded to
our call so willingly and worked so
faithfully that I make bold to rec-
ommend that this report of their ser-
vices he made in part of the records
of the Welfare Board.
Sincerely yours,
(Signed) JACOB NATHAN . ,
Chairman.
