NI aster Harry Farloman. a student
at the Ganapol School of NIusieal .\ri
for four years, has been accepted as
a pupil by the noted violin virtuoso.
Leopold van Auer. The boy is only
13 years old. When he was bro!Ight
at the age of 8. by his father to the
Ganapol School, in the season of
1914-1913, Boris L. tianapol, director
of the school, placed him in the
hands of Hildegarde Itrandegee, then
the bead of the violin department.
Ile studied with her for three years.
and upon her return to the east, was
turned over to Nicola Thomas, with
whom he studied another year. Both
his instructors were prominent pupils
of Prof, van Ater.
01 the boy genius Prof. van Auer
says: "1 tied him one of the most
gifted talents which 1 have ever haul
the opportunity to meet. It would
be most desirable if the boy could find
the necessary means to continue his
studies for at least three years.
There is no doubt he will eventnalb
become a virtuoso of the first rank "
Harry has received his entire pre-
liminary training in Detroit. The
past year he has been coaching with
May Leggett Abel, preparing for the
difficult examination exacted by the
great Russian master.

MOBILIZING JEWS
IN UKRAINIA STOPS

LONDON.—The Ukrainian gm ,
eminent has at last realized that it is
endangering the lives of the Galician
Jews for no purpose by forcible mob-
ilization, and has just withdrawn the
mobilization order. It was forced to
take this step through the unceasing
protests of the Jewish Council of Gal -
icia, which declared that the G.lician
Jews wished to remain neutral in the
fights between the Ukranians and
l'oles.
