Louis Edward Levy, former De- troiter, known and esteemed far and wide for his attainments In the scien- tific world and for his unceasing de. votton to the welfare of the Jewish people, died last week at the age of 73 at his home in Philadelphia. Mr. Levy's proficiency in mathe- matics secured for hint a position in the office of the City Surveyor of Detroit. Studies in scientific research, in chemistry, and in microscopy be- gaa to occupy his time, and devel- oped his faculties to such an extent that he soon attained note, and was selected with others to perform analytical work in the examination of cases of trichinosis. PISGAH LODGE HOLDS LAST MEETING IN OLD QUARTERS On Nlonday night. February 24, the members of Pisgah Lodge. I. O. It. It.. held its last meeting at the old club rooms, ti4 Broadway, which in a few short and record-breaking months, it had hopelessly•butgrown. The next meeting of I'isgah Lodge will be held next Nlonday evening, March 3, in its beautiful new club- rooms at 25 Broadway, which take up the entire four tipper floors of the Liberty Market. The new quarters will include a large library, a meeting and dance hall, and four smaller rooms for club members.
