thinkers upon civic, social and educa-
tional themes.
The program, which has been pre-
pared and which will be announced in
full shortly, contains the names of
men who speak authoritatively upon
the subjects that they are to discuss.
The first of these is Dr. Charles E.
Chadsey, superintendent of schools.
Detroit, who is known from one
NIA of the country to the other as a
leading educator. When a number of
years ago Dr. Chadsey was prevailed
upon to come here from Denver the
educational joiirnals throughout the
land congratulated Detroit tipon its
acquisition of the best equipped man
in the country to take charge of our
school system.
Within very recent times Dr. Chad-
sey's name was very prominently
mentioned in connection with the su-
perintendency of schools, first in the
city of Cleveland, and then in New
York city, and it is an open secret
that overtures were made to him by
both of these important communities.
Howes er, Dr. Chadsey felt that here
in Detroit was an educational oppor-
tunity as large as 'night he found any-
where in America and he decided to
remain here. flow fortunate Detroit
