marked "Confidential" which is be-
ing circulated broadcast through Ger-
many in which it is stated that the
Jews in England, America and Rus-
sia have raised a fund of fifteen hun-
dred million marks "for the purpose
of sowing hatred among the various
social classes of Germany with the
object of creating disorder."
This hardly looks like pro-German-
ism on the part of the Jews—if there
were any truth in the leaflet's story.

There is abundant additional evi-
dence of the hostile spirit with which
Jews are regarded just now in Ger-
many.
To give a few instances: An ar-
ticle in the Deutsche Zeitung by one
Fritz, urging a strong immigration
law to prevent Jews iron Eastern
Europe settling in the Empire, so that
"our native Jewry" may not he
"strengthened by these added num-
bers."
There is a demand set tip by the
People's Party that Jews should not

the Kaiser "should cease holding con-

A further demand is that "all pro-
fessors and teachers of the German
language and literature, the manag
ern of theatres and the contributors to
the German press should, in future,
be persons of pure German blood."
Again, we are told that there have
been an unusual number of conver-
sions to Christianity on the part of
Jewish army officers, because of the
indignities to which Jews are ex-
posed.

Some comments that have appeared
in two very German newspapers are
noteworthy. line Deutsche Blaetter
recently published an editorial head-
ed "An Immediate War Against the
Jews,' in which it declares that the
time has come- to declare an open
warfare against the Jewish race.
"The Jews," it adds, "are in the
way of the realization of the aims of
the Central Powers in the present
War, and they must be crushed before
these are achieved."
As a final instance there is the

which rejoices over the progress of
the campaign against the Jews and
exults at the large sums of money
contributed towards the fund for that
campaign.
