THE SLIM SILHOUETTE

Will Prevail For the Fall and Winter
There in no question but what the
stint silhouette will be retained In
suits and gowns throughout the new
season. There are modes and there
are experiments but changes in fast ,
ion these days are !mire a matter of
logic than experiment. The day of
startling and radical changes in dress
seems to be passed, and one season
lays the foundation of the styles of
the next season.
On the authority of II, Siegel Co. wo
say with cerUtinty that the
MO'
straight, slim silhouette will be much
III evidence. The gown may be drap-
ed, to be sure, but the drapery )rust
be arranged HO as to give the wearer
a straight, up and down look. If the
costume is made with tt tunic, the
tunic, as a rule is long.
Velvet gowns are conspicuous among
the fall models now on display . Some
of the most practical of these gowns
are straight and clinging and mado
of supple Velvet or Velveteen, quite
untrimmed, save or the rows of satin
buttons, 1111105 of silk or narrow
pleatings of silk or satin. II. Siegel
('o. recently received a remarkably
chic but simple model made of velvet
which had a narrow band of fur out-
lining the round neck and the turned
back cuffs. The gown was made In
one piece, belted loosely at the low
waistline by a scarf of black satin. At
either side of the skirt, appeared large
pocket-like draperies of the matterial.
Wool Jersey is receiving Its share
of modish approval and comes in love.
ly colorings. Many smart Jersey dreg.
sets are embroidered in contrasting
tone or In self color. This house Is
showing smart models in Internationol
blue, relieved by gay Japanese em-
broidery on the panels, which extend
down the front and back of the dress.

The woman who buys the hest materials for her dress
or coat buys the cheapest--secures the most in wear and
