SOCIETY

The

models for the new season are
of marked simplicity in appearance
Sometimes this simplicity is a matim
of effect more than of design. This i.
especially true of the draped gowns.
At present there i s a pronounced ten-
dency towards longer suit jackets.
both for the severely tailored suit and
the inore dressy models. However.
there are models, the jackets of which
are only a little below the hip line and
even smart little jackets which are
but hip length. .A very smart and
youthful new tailored snit shown by
B. Siegel Co. has the skirt of the coat
reaching down almost half the length
of the skirt. The garment is of navy
blue serge made on rather severe
lines. belted and fastened down the
front with small, round material but-
tons. Straps of the material extend
down the side fronts of the coat and
form large shaped pockets on the pep-
lum. There is a small round collar of
white cashmere.
