The Ideal Place in Which to Help
Uncle Sam Win the War !
War is grim business, and any duty you are
called upon to perform carries with it its
dangers, its inconveniences and its hardships.
But in the navy there are fewer hardships
and more opportunities for service than in
any other branch of the service.
Members of the navy work out doors drinking
in health from the fresh sea breezes, eat
clean, well-cooked food, sleep in clean beds
every night and—most important of all—the
navy is indispensible if we are to win the war.
Every man in the navy has a clean place to
sleep every night—in a hammock swung on
board the finest fighting craft that floats. Not
in a water-filled trench knee deep in mud and
muck.
You do a real service for your country, for your
home, your loved ones and for the liberty of
the world if you enlist as a member of the
United States navy.
Every man in the navy is served his meals reg-
ularly three times a day at stated intervals.
And in case of extra service night lunches are
served. And the food served is not "bully
beef." It is fresh, clean, wholesome food of
the sort that is served at home and in the best
hotels of the country. Properly cooked, prop-
erly served, properly balanced and enough
of it.
Call at any one of the places named below,
bringing with you a certificate showing you
are a United States Citizen, including birth
certificate, signed by parent or reputable
citizen. If you are of draft age, secure release
from your local draft board, which will be
furnished if you are not in an immediate
quota for army service.
