How Do Your
Sacrifices Compare
With These?

T

HE American boy who goes to war
gives up the position which means
so much to his future, or the little
business which has just begun to show
promise of success.

He severs home ties; gives up home comforts;

leaves behind parents, friends, wife or sweetheart.

He faces the probability of being obliged to
take up life anew when he returns; of losing all
the advantages which years of hard work have
won for him.

He faces the possibility of coming back in-
capacitated for earning a living, and of bein g
dependent upon his friends or upon charity..

He faces the possibility of never coming
home at all.

Facing these things, he goes to France to
fight for us who remain safely at home — and
when the moment comes for him to go over

the top—he GOES!

What will he think, how will he
feel, if we complain because we
are asked to make a few sacri-
fices for him — sacrifices so insig-
nificant when compared with his?

Show him that to invest in Liberty
Bonds is not a SACRIFICE
but a PRIVILEGE—an appre-
ciation of his sacrifice!

And When You Buy—Buy!

The extent of the splendid work of
Jewish women in the local branches of
the American Red Cross Is clearly evi-
dent in the report of the Motor Ser-
vice Division of the Detroit Chapter.
This branch of Red Cross work began
operations in January of this year, but
in the short space of its existance bas
rendered invaluable aid in handling
the growing demand of the Civilian Re-
lief and other branches.
The Civilian Relief work of the Red
Cross consists of the caring for the
famillea and dependents of men in ser-
vice. It requires at the present time
four owners or chauffeur-driven cars,
several hours each working day, to
carry Red Cross workers to their du-
ties which take them to every part of
the city. The Motor Service Division
is called upon to furnish these cars
and is now meeting every demand of
the Civilian Relief work.
It is a matter of pride to the Jewish
community that one of the leading
workers in this important branch Is
