Statement By Rabbi A. M. Hershman of
Shaarey Zedek Congregation
"The reconstruction work regarding Pales-
tine should appeal to every Jew and Jewess
whose heart beats with love for the Jewish re-
ligion and the Jewish people. The crying need
of Israel today is a Jewish center, a center
whence should emanate influences tending to
quicken the Jewish consciousness, to deepen
the Jewish spirit, to revivify and strengthen
the sense of Jewish solidarity. Zionism is es-
sentially a conservation movement having as
its aim the conservation of our most precious
resources— our Jewish resources. The appeal
for the Palestine Restoration Fund should
strike a responsive chord in the heart of every
loyal Jew or Jewess."
