SHAAREY ZEDEK NOTES.

TEMPLE BETH EL NOTES.

The subject of Rabbi Franklin's ser-
mon at Temple Beth El on Sunday
morning, Nov. 25, will be "Analysis
of the President's Thanksgiving Mes-
sage."
Sabbath services arc held each week
at 10:30.

Thanksgiving Services.
As usual, Temple Beth H will be
officially represented in the Citizens'
I n t e r d e nominational Thanksgiving
Service to be held at the Detroit
opera House on Thursday morning.
Services begin promptly at 10:30.
All members of the congregation arc
cordially invited to be present.

Saturday morning service; begin at
9 a. in, Rabbi A. M. Hershman will de-
liver his weekly sermon, beginning at
10 o'clock. The public is cordially wel-
come at the Sabbath services.

Ladies' Auxiliary Red Cross Sewing.

Red Cross sewing of the Auxiliary
of Shaarey Zedek is held every Wed-
nesday from 9 a. m. to 6 p. in. at the
quarters in the Synagogue building at
Willis and Brush streets. All ladies
interested in this work arc invited to
participate.

YOUNG PEOPLE'S AUXILIARY.

Women's Auxiliary Association.

On Monday afternoon of this week
the regular meeting of the Women's
Auxiliary will take place. On this oc-
casion Mrs. Adolph Sloman will read
a paper on Ernest Poole's book, "Ills
Family."
All members of the organization are
urged to attend.

Adult Bible Class.

The Adult Bible Class will meet as
usual on Thursday afternoon at 2:15.
The class is open to all who are in-
terested in the serious study of the
Bible.

Young People's Auxiliary, congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek, had a fine pro-
gram arranged for the meeting ‘Ved-
nesday evening, NH. 1Villiam Venn,
parole agent, addressed the organiza-
tion On "Giving a Man a Chance." Mr.
Venn is a most interesting speaker
and showed that he was peculiarly
fitted by experience to talk on this
subject.
The music for the evening was pro-
•ided by a trio, Miss Kerston, violin-
ist; Ilarry Jatovsky, 'cellist, and
Miss Edith Davis, pianist.
A social half-hoar preceded the
meeting which opened promptly at
8:30 o'clock,

Young People's Society.

The various study classes organized
recently by the Young People's So-
ciety meet on Wednesday evening at
7:45. The attendance, which from the
start has Veen gratifyingly large, in-
creases from week to week.
The lessons which last an hour are
succeeded by a lecture by a prominent
speaker and this in turn is followed
by a social half-hour.

Sewing Classes.

Classes in sewing for the Red Cross,
surgical bandage work s u rd for the
local charities meet under the auspices
of the Women's Auxiliary Association
daily. Information as to this work
may be obtained from any of the offi-
cers of the Wumen's Auxiliary Asso-
ciation.

Surgical Dressing Class.

The surgical dressing class, organ-
ized by the auxiliary, is doing splendid
work. At the first meeting 325 band-
ages were made. The next meeting
showed an increase in the numbers
and in the work, 365 compresses be-
ing made. Miss Wetsman has charge
of the class.
Miss Helen Rosenthal, who has
charge of the knitting, will be pleased
to instruct all who are interested and
desire to do this work.

ill plain sewing, the making of muslin
bandages and pajamas. This class
meets every Monday evening at 7:30
o'clock in the dining room of the
synagogue,

Young Men.

The "Y IIi Ohr" is a new club com-
posed of Jewish young men between
the ages of 14 and 18. It holds its
meetings every , Wednesday evening at
the Tem* Beth El. The club will
discuss Jewish topics of all times. A ll
young men in the city between the
prescribed ages are urgently invitt'd
