THE JEWISH CHRONICLE

950 Detroiters Wanted---

yes, and needed at once, for the Navy!

Shades of Dewey, Farragut, Perry, John Paul Jones and other heroes of the Amer-
ican Navy!
What an opportunity for excitement—adventure—education and patriotism this
call from our country opens up to Lis!

You've heard the call ! You know your country wants and needs the services of
20,000 of her stalwart sons right at this minute ! New ships require new men and make
new and greater opportunities for YOU in the Navy !

Don't hesitate! Remember the minute men of 1776 who left their plows in the fur-
rows and without an instant's delay took up the fight that won for YOU the FREEDOM
YOU ENJOY TODAY ! And they fought against ODDS—the ODDS TODAY ARE
ALL IN YOUR FAVOR!

It takes 950 men to man ONE modern
dreadnaught!

Surely Detroit can supply the equivalent in men of one complete fighting unit of
the navy!
Detroit, the leader in the financial support of the war, CAN and WILL be a leader in
giving the nation the personal support of its men and boys in active service.
To enlist, a man must be an American citizen, native born or fully naturalized, and
between the ages of 18 and 35. Men subject to draft but not yet called for physical ex-
amination by their local boards, can enlist in the navy. If they wait till they are called
for medical examination under the draft, they cannot choose the branch of the service
they prefer, but must go where sent!
The navy .offers quick action, shortest preliminary • training period, highest pay,
clean service and unusual opportunity for advancement.
Come in and talk it over ! Find out whether you can pass the physical examination.
We'll gladly examine you without charge or obligation to you. First get the point set-
tled as to whether or not you CAN pass the examination—then make up your mind to
join! If you can't get down during the day, come in the evening. We've arranged to be

Open evenings until 8 p. m.

Every day's delay in raising 950 Detroiters will keep a ship idle or
a crew short-handed just that much longer. Take action today!
