YEAR-AROUND CAR

Do you favor a general revision
of the charter of the City of Detroit?

I

T IS becoming plain to the automobile owner
as never before, that thrift in a motor car
begins with the basic design and con-
struction.

• Do you favor a change in the form
' of government of the City of Detroit
so as to provide for the election on a
non-partisan ballot of a small coqn-
cil elected from the city at large in- .
stead of a council composed of alder-
men elected from the different wards
of the city?

That gasoline economy, tire economy and
long life are matters of light weight and resil-
iency, as against dead weight and rigid con-
struction.

The fact that Franklin Enclosed Car design
has been adapted to these engineering principles,
means that thrift and all-around usaliility are
uppermost.

Shall there be one alderman in each
ward after the second Tuesday_ in
January, 1919, at a salary of $2,000.00
per annum, instead of two aldermen
as at present provided?

bersomeness and extravagance. Instead, they

Do you favor increasing the pen-
sions of the widows and children of
deceased firemen killed in the service
of the City of Detroit from $25.00
• per month to $50.00 per month?

sion be authorized to engage in the
sale of electricity for commercial
lighting or power?

Do you favor giving to the Com-
mon Council of the City of Detroit
power to erect and maintain a bridge
over the American channel of the De-
troit River between Belle Isle and
the Mainland at the intersection of
Jefferson Avenue and East Grand
Boulevard, and to provide for an ap-
proach or approaches thereto, the cost
of the same not to exceed three mil-
lion dollars, which may be raised by
taxation or by the sale of bonds?

Charter Commissioners

Election of nine charter commis-
sioners to revise the charter, these
commissioners to be elected on a
non-partisan ballot.

It is the Franklin owners who have estab-
lished a five-year tire record of 10,203 miles
to the set of tires.

Women Electors

Women who are qualified electors
under the law may vote on the propo-
sition relating to the issuing of bonds
for the construction of a new bridge
to Belle Isle, and the amendment in-
creasing pensions of widows and chil-
dren of firemen. Qualifications for
women electors require that they be
taxpayers or joint owners of property
assessed for taxation in the City of
Detroit.
