ity and serve their purpose as well as
cut stone, the Zagelmeyer Cast Stone
company has experienced one expan-
sion after another. The plant is at
T ■ %clith street and the Detroit Ter-
mit:711 railroad, and it has been a habit
to double the capacity each year. Re-
cently this rule had to be broken to
take care of orders and equipment and
nun have been added, increasing the -
daily output to a total of 4,500 con-
crcte blocks daily.
The "Zagelmeyer product is held in
high favor by building contractors be-
cause it is dependable and the process
eliminates the undesirable qualities of
some blocks.
This is °tie of the largest concerns
in the country in its line, and makes
wet process blocks, the concrete being
poured into the molds instead of being
tamped, the result being the most dur-
able and satisfactory block. Extensive
building operations which arc continu-
ing throughout the city and the many
projects for the near season has put
the production of this cast stone up to
the high water mark. The production
was great last year, even to attracting
outside attention, but the 1917 record
promises to overshadow all others.
Anticipating a great amount of
building this year, the Zagelmeyer
company laid in big stocks, hence
there has been no change in the . price
list since February 1. Deliveries arc
made with promptness.

Club will open on Tuesday, July 24, for
its seven-day meeting. Its new racing
plant is conceded to be one of the most
