PHILOMATHIC ELECTS OFFI-
CERS FOR COMING TERM.

The last meeting of the Philomatic
Debating Club was featured by the
semi-annual election of officers for the
coming term. The results of the elec-
tion were as follows: Speaker, Israel
G. Rosenstein; Clerk, Rueben Levine;
Assistant Clerk, Jacob Rogvoy; and
Sergeant-at-Arms, Oscar Sckolnick.
The board of directors of the organiz 7
ation is composed of the following
members: Israel G. Rosenstein, chair-
man; Simon Shetzer, Samuel Rubiner,
Morris Goldstick. Morris Klein and
Israel Pearlman.
After the newly-elected officers had
been sworn into their respective of-
fices, the retiring speaker, Mr. Morris
Klein, gave his ex-augural address. He
said in part:
"I feel that the officers you have
elected tonight will do all in their
power to fulfill the duties that devolve
upon them by virtue of their respec-
tive offices. I feel that everyone will
work in harmony with the newly-
elected officers, and that there shall be
no disharmonious relations existing
between the officers and the rest of the
organization. The officers you have
elected arc able men and they can be
counted upon to uphold the glorious
traditions of Philomathic's glorious
past. I expect the most successful
term that the organization has ever
had."
The president-elect then called for a
rising vote of thanks to Mr. Klein for
the splendid work he had accom-
plished during his term. The vote as
recorded was unanimous. Mr. Rosen-
stein, the new speaker, then said:
"The next administration shall do
all that it possibly can to make the
coming term a good term. The splen-
did work left as yet undone by the last
administration shall be finished and
shall constitute our ultimate goal. And
I have no doubt but that the officers
and the committees and the organiza-
tion as a whole shall lend their utmost
efforts to accomplish the remaining
work before us. I feel confident that
the club can expect an ideal Philo-
mathic term."
