Mr. Samuel M. Schmidt, superintend-
ent of the Jewish Settlement of Cincin-
nati, comes from Boston, where he was
engaged in public health work with the
Massachusetts Board of Labor and In-

During the two years that 11r.
Schmidt was director of the West End
Evening Center in Boston he succeeded
in bringing - together widely divergent
elements of the Jewish community, and
brought about harmony where great an-

hoped that Mr. Schmidt will become a
telling influence for constructive work
in his new field of endeavor.
