Buffalo, N. Y.—Success had re-
warded the efforts of the Buffalo Jew-
ish Relief committee for war sufferers
to obtain $100,000 from Buffalo's
Jewry, when the mass meeting which
ended the campaign closed last week.
For nearly four hours more than
2,000 Jews remained in Temple Beth
Zion, and in response to the call for
help and more help, gave an additional
$11,000, which with the $10,000 contrib-
uted by Jacob G. Joseph—a sum even
greater than the 10 per cent. he prom-
ised—made a total of more than $100,000.
The speakers were Rabbi Stephen S.
Wise of New York, the greatest pulpit
orator in Jewry; Henry Morgenthau,
former ambassador to Turkey, and a
famous leader in Jewish affairs; Sundel
J. Holender, secretary of the local com-
mittee. Rabbi Max Drob of Temple
Beth El; Rabbi N. H. Ebin of the
United Orthodox Congregations and
Rabbi L. J. Kopald of Temple Beth
Zion, who, as chairman had directed
the campaign to its successful ending.

POLISH RABBIS BEING
LOOKED AFTER.

COPENHAGEN.—Warsaw still con-
tains a number of Rabbis, some of them
men of vast learning and great reputa-
tions, who are being looked after by the
community. To provide for these, a
special committee, which includes Reb
Yudele Siegel, Dr. Posnonsky, Dr. Klu-
mel and Sigmund Halpern, will investi-
gate the provincial towns, and such com-
munities as can maintain a Rabbi will
be asked to take one in.
