MR. AND MRS. E. H. VAN BAALEN

On April 7, 1867, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Van Baalen were united in mar-
riage by Rabbi E. ,Epstein of the old Rivard' Street Temple, and have ever
since been honored and beloved residents of Detroit. Now on the eve of their
golden wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Van Baalen are leaving for Chi-
cago to celebrate the event in the midst of their children and grand-children,
and to Take their-future home in that city. They are accompanied by a sister
-of Mr. Van Baalen, Mrs. Esther Marx, who for many years, has made her
home with them. The entire community feels a keen Sense of regret at their
departure, and the good wishes of a host of .friends go with them. .A family
dinner at the Hotel La Salle has been planned to mark the occasion of the
anniversary, Mrs. Henry Van Baalen of Detroit being among the out-of-
town .guests present. Of the six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Van Baalen,
five are living, Mrs. Isador Kuttnauer, Mrs. Adolph Kuttnauer, Mrs. Edward
Kuttnauer, and William Van Baalen, all residents of Chicago, and Isador Van
Baalen of Youngstown, Ohio. One son, Henry, passed away three years ago.

On Sunday evening, April 1, the
Unity Club will give a dance at the
Majestic Hall, Majestic Theater
Building, Woodward at Willis ave-
nue. The entertainment committee
has arranged a complete program and
a verrenjoyable evening is assured
for all those present.. Tickets may be
secured from any of the members or
at the box office.
Miss Anna Benson of 303 Freder-
ick avenue 'entertained the members
of the Delta Phi•;Sorority on Mon-
day evening, March 26. Miss. Ma-,
thilda Brown. gave a rendition of a
-few choice selections. Covers were

Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Rodgers of 62
Glendale-avenue are having as their
guest for a few days Miss Bertha
Rodgers of Chitago, who is on her
way home from a visit with her sister
in New York.

temporary designation of the new
social organization that will hold its
first social affair on Wednesday eve-
ning, April 4th, at Hurst's Academy
in the . Arcade building. The execu-
tive committee of the club announces
that it will select a permanent name
at the dance and solicits suggestions
from the 'attendants.

COMPLETED.
The committee on arrangements of
the Shaarey Zedek, Jrs., who will give
a dance on Saturday evening, March
31, in the auditorium of the synagogue,
have announced that all arrangements
have been completed. The . officers
and members of the, organization feel
that this dance will be the best on
the schedule of social events for the
year. There will be an extended (lane-
. ing program, after which -refreshments
will be served. Shook's orchestra will
furnish the music for the evening.
