Copenhagen.—The Prussian royal-
government-president of Apfeln made
public the following notice:
"According to a report from the
president of Breslau, a number of
provinces particularly in the lowlands
have been invaded by a number of
travelers, chiefly foreign Jews, who
under false pretense or another seek
to procure sundry materials required
for candle manufacturing. Such buy-
ers have among others been quoted by
these names: Solomon Weiser, Miss
Weiser, Nathan Weiser, Solomon
Sussman and S. Stein. I warn all
loyal citizens against these buyers,
who very apparently try to make cap-
ital out of the fact that the materials
in question are so very scarce."
With right the Prague "Selbst-
where" asks whether the pfesident of
Schlessen or the government-president
of Apfeln are in the habit of also un-
derlining and drawing attention to the
names of non-Jews engaging in a sim-
ilar manner or in the case of Jews •
who have rendered distinguished serv-
ice while doing their dirty for their
country.

With vim and vigor have the mem-
bers of. the Yoni Literary Society be-
gun the rehearsals for their new
play, "What . Next," at the .Temple
Beth El rooms. The play is said to
have a very deep plot that concerns
itself with the: activities of several
members of the fair sex with a tend-
ency to pulchritude. A girl reporter
with a notorious name acts in a man-

forward and unconventional. She
goes through Many antics indicative
of the "Perils of Pauline" and, con-
trary to the logic of an ordinary state
of affairs, like eternal virtue, triumphs.
• There are also men in the show
who will act by way of contrast as a
background to the feminine partici-
pants. They are .purported to be as
good as most any amateur actors but

it's the girls who count anyway in any
girl show.
"What Next" will occur . at McCol-
lester hall on • April 17, 1917. In an-
ticipation of a lack of proper apprecia-
tion of those who simply can't under-
stand "real art," the committee in
charge has arranged a dance program
to be indulged in after the show. The
proceeds of the affair are dedicated to
the Jewish War Sufferers' Relief
Fund, and it is hoped to raise a tidy
sum for this most worthy cause. •
Tickets may be procured from any
of the following on the committee:
Eva Werbe, Bertha Robinson, Frieda
Fishbaine, Florence Finklestone,
Helen Hubar, ,Rita King, Marion
Fishbaine, Rose Shere, Edith Wolf.

listed the raise in price would have been as
spectacular. This will be to your advan-
