Cherry 290 RECORD - BREAKING VOLUME OF BUSINESS INSURES 50% DIVIDEND. A record of progress and achieve- ment unustfal in manufacturing circles is disclosed by the report recently is- sued by the Universal Car Equipment Company covering its business for the. past eighteen months. During that time the company has received a total of 1,570 orders amdunting to $408,200. The growth of business has been tin- usually rapid since January 1st, 1917, it being estimated by officials of Ole company that if it continues at that rate it will have reached the astound- ing total of $2,000,000 before the year is over. Another striking proof of the pos- sibilities for lucrative investment af- forded by a purchase of the com- pany's stock is furnished by the fact that the net profits on sales to date aggregate $38,000, while profits which are reasonably certain to ensue from this year's orders insure the declara- tion of a 50% dividend at the end of the year on the company's capitaliza- tion of $100,000. Every Ford Owner a Buyer. The Universal Car Equipment Com- pany produces a special body for the Ford chassis. So attractive is it that a Ford car equipped with it presents an appearance which compares favor- ably with the Maxwell, Overland, Saxon and similar cars, while the cost of equipment insuies a substantial economy in price. This is calculated to make a strong appeal to the aver- age Ford owner who is well satisfied with the mechanism of the Ford, but who would be only too ready to ex- pend a small sum to make his car as attractive externally as it is sound itf- ternally. That this is a reality is evi- denced by the constantly increasing number of orders for Universal equipment poured in upon the com- pany by Ford owners. Company Has Strong Organization. An analysis of the personnel of the management and directors of the Uni- versal Car Equipment Company re- veals that the latter is in charge of one of the strongest groups of execu- tives in local industry. R. W. Angst- man, president and general sales and advertising manager, has been active in general merchandising work in au- tomobile and kindred lines for many years. His experience and efficiency are an invaluable asset to the com- pany. William J. Decker, vice-presi- dent and general manager, has been connected with the automobile in- dustry since its inception, and pos- sesses a thorough knowledge of the entire field. He will be in charge of production. I. 0. Decker, secretary and office manager, is well equipped to handle the finances and general supervision of office system and detail. F. E. W. Bright, treasurer, is connected with the Detroit Times, and is well known in newspaper circles. His name alone adds much to the stability of our board. Wm. F. Cornell, director of sales, is a man of tremendous force and his experience with such concerns as Chalmers and Federal Truck 'amply fit him for his present duties. Mr. Cornell is a result producer of the highest character. Warren See- lye, advertising manager, formerly was advertising counsel of the United States Tire Company, one of the larg- st advertisers in the country. His connection leaves nothing to be de- sired from his department. 11 11 II MI H MS SS I • am up 111 MS mit as 11111 ■■ aa 111 rr Mt MN ■ III MI lnt i as ea apt as ■ UI ar ▪ It 111 alt 111 111 Mt SS MI II ILS 11.11 111 M i tii SR 1111 WM xx x xxxxam ma immammax am mamm mamm ax maN x mm mamammammax a mma m mil
