One of the most delightful af-
fairs of the season was the dinner
which was tendered the Sabbath
School teachers of Temple Beth El
by the Sabbath School Board, on
Monday evening at the Phoenix
Club. Mr. Bernard B. Selling
acted as toastmaster and the books
of the Bible were used as a text for
the toasts, which were as follows :
Genesis, a letter written by Rabbi
Louis Grossman of Cincinnati and
read by Miss Rose Phillips ; Judges,
Rabbi Franklin ; The Book of
Books, Miss Irene Goldstone ;
Prophets, Mr. Milton Alexander.
A beautiful string of pearls was
presented to Miss Breitenbach by
the board, the presentation being
made by Mrs. Sidney Wineman.
The Sabbath School teachers also
showed their high esteem for Miss
Breitenbach by presenting her with
a silver vase and corsage boquet,
Miss Fredericka Hirschman speak-
ing in behalf of the teachers. Mr.
Wodic was called upon and spoke
a few appropriate words.

The marriage of Miss Irene Slo-
man to Mr. Samuel Epstein took
place on Thursday evening at the
Hotel Statler, Rabbi Leo M. Frank-
lin officiating. Both Miss Sloman
and Mr. Epstein were unattended
and only members of the families
were present at the wedding.

Mr. Joseph Marymont entertained
with a family dinner on June 21 in
honor of his 75th birthday.

Miss Fanny Strasburger of New
York is the guest of Mrs. Clarence
Enggass of Second avenue.

Mr. Irving Hirschman spent Fri-
day in Grand Rapids.

The marriage of Miss Blanche
Engel to Mr. Louis Edeltein took
place on June 24 at the Hotel Stat-
ler, Rabbi Leo M. Franklin officiat-
ing.

The marriage of Mrs. Elsie
Schwartz and Mr. Henry Engel was
solemnized at Temple Beth El,
Rabbi Franklin officiating.

Lowell Selling left on Friday of
last week for the east, where he will
spend the summer at camp.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Lapin Cohen
have left for a trip to the Thousand
Islands.

Miss Golda . Ginsburg will spend
the summer at a camp in Maine.

Sigmund Robinson and Henry
Ullman left this week for their sum-
mer canip at Mullet Lake.

Miss Vera Wolenburgh and M r.
Sidney Newman were united in
marriage on June 26th at the Hotel
Pontchartrain, Rabbi Franklin of-
ficiating.
