The Michigan State Telephone
Company furnishes that example
of liberality of treatment by the
employer, so rare these days. Ever
since its organization it has ad-
hered strictly to this policy, and to-

w orking for the Aichigan State
Telephone Company.
Among the thousands of girls
e mployed as operators are several
hundred Jewish girls, and many of
these have risen to positions of high
rank in the employ of the company.
The fair treatment of the company
toward its Jewish employes has
been displayed on more than one
occasion. In its desire to aid in
every way the welfare of its em-
ployes, the company maintains
lounging rooms where the girls
may rest between working hours;
reading rooms where they may
spend their leisure time profit-
ably ; and restaurants where food is
furnished them at cost price. Re-
sides the pleasantness and congen-
iality of the surroundings, the work
itself is light and the remuneration
excellent.

We would call the attention of the
readers of our paper to the advertise-
ment which appears on page 43, not
because it is an advertisement that is
paid for, but because the prices at
which the property is being sold ap-
pear to us as the greatest bargain that
has ever been offered to the Detroit
real estate investing public.
The method of advertising is en-
tiny unique and from all apparent
indications the bargains are genuine in
every respect and the sacrifice price
will have to be borne by the people
who are selling the property.
The property referred to, Home-
lands, lies on the corner of Mill Road
and Seven Mile Drive, the former a
fine gravel road leading to Birming-
ham and the latter is all in prepara-
tion, for 19 miles westward of Wood-
ward avenue, for a fine concrete pave-

On Sunday, when the writer saw the
porperty, a good deal of excitement
prevailed in the district, as the con-
tractors for this paving have laid their
tracks for a long distance west of

and a large number of cars were draw-
ing material as quickly as possible for
the' purpose of paving which is soon
to be put in hand. It being a line
day, hundreds of people were on the
property investigating these bargain
prices and we have been informed that
a sale of 130 lots actually was made
on Saturday and Sunday in this prop-
erty.
The land is high and dry,and desir-
able for building purposes and served
with an auto bus line when the Seven
Mile Drive is completely paved should
be most accessible to Woodward and
Grand River avenues. Another inter-
esting feature about the property is
that there are several wells of pure

spring water on it and there is
sibility of putting down artesian wells
in the district to supply all the water
that may be required.
We certainly think, at the prices and
considering the possibility of improve-
ments in the district, that this real
estate offer is worthy the considera-
tion of our readers.
