in the Temple last Sunday morn-

• thoughtful presentation of the
subject, and was well received
by the large audience that, de-
spite the inclement weather, had
gathered to hear him. While
Rabbi Wolf was here, Rabbi
Franklin was in Rochester where
he gave two addresses during the
day.

Helps Pay Insurance,
Taxes, Etc.

One of our depositors confided to us
the use he was making of one of our
little individual banks.

He said that his insurance premiums
and taxes had always been of con-
siderable annoyance to him—he was
never ready for them when they came
due. Since he has been using our
"small bank" it has taken care • of
them easily and he generally has a
surplus.

Mr. Louis Cohn spoke to the
members of the Men's Club on
"Mordecai MantkI Noah and His
Plea for the Restoration of the
Jews" at the last meeting of the
organization held on last Sunday: •
The meeting was well attended.

President Harry Keidan an-
nounces that Mr. Louis James
Rosenberg will address the mem-
bers of the club at the next meet-
ing on "The Modern View of the
`Merchant of Venice.' "

Plans are now being made by
the committee in charge for the
conducting of special Sabbath
morning services by the Shaarey
Zedek juniors. The Sabbath
Service Committee is as follows:
Joseph Morris, chairman ; Joseph
Blumenthal, vice-chairman ; Paul
Goldstein, Milton Bofsky and
Victor Klein.

The club is pleased to an-
nounce that its membership is
increasing and its work progres-
sing rapidly. The purpose of
the club is to bring the young
Jewish boy into closer touch with
the synagogue.

YOUNG PEOPLE'S AUXIL-
IARY.

A Schechter memorial meeting
was held at Shaarey Zedek by
the Young People's Auxiliary on
Wednesday evening, March 22,
1916. A very interesting paper
on the "Works of Schechter"
was read by Mrs. David
Stocker, and a brilliant address
about the life and famous works
of the great scholar was pre-
sented by Rabbi A. M. Hersh-
man. It was voted by the soci-
ety that resolutions be drafted
and sent to the family of Prof.
Solomon Schechter and also to
the Jewish Theological Semi-
nary.
